Press Release Builder

Journalists read the first two sentences and decide whether to continue. Your lede is everything.

The inverted pyramid still rules: most important information first, context second, quotes third. If a journalist can't write their headline from your first paragraph, you've failed.

PRESS RELEASE

The lede (first paragraph) should answer: Who did what, when, and why it matters. A journalist should be able to write their headline from this paragraph alone. Don't bury the news.

Keep the quote authentic — nobody believes 'We are thrilled and excited.' A good quote adds perspective that facts alone can't convey.

'[Quote from spokesperson — make it sound human, not corporate],' said [Full Name, Title].
